Professional Fisheries Graduate Forum

Professional Fisheries Graduates Forum (PFGF) was nurtured since 2001. It was registered as a de facto national body of Fisheries Graduates (Registration Number: 251/2002) in the office of Charity Commissioner, Mumbai under the Society Registration Act on 14th February, 2002. The support extended by Dr. S. Ayyappan, the then DDG, ICAR along with wholehearted guidance of eminent scientists like Dr. Panjab Singh, former DG, ICAR, Dr. H.P.C. Shetty, Dr. K. V. Devaraj, Dr. J. V. H. Dixitulu laid a strong foundation for the organization. The forum functions with its headquarters at Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai – the National Fisheries University and has regional chapters at 12 states across the country.

College of Fisheries, Kishanganj

The College of Fisheries, Kishanganj was incorporated in the Bihar Animal Sciences University Act as one of its constituent colleges. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Nitish Kumar formally inaugurated and announced the start of first academic session of this college on 29th August 2018. This college offers a credible fisheries education that nurtures the next-generation professionals and entrepreneurs in the fisheries sector and contributes to the state and nation by pursuing innovations and research relevant to local needs and directed towards maximizing outcomes for economic, social and environmental well-being. The College of Fisheries is committed to become a centre of excellence in Fisheries education in the region. Currently college offers four-year B.F.Sc. degree program and two-year M.F.Sc. in eleven disciplines.
